Grace and Peace in the name of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Welcome to another year of conference excellence dedicated to the celebration and preservation of African American preaching. The late Reverend Dr. A.C.D. Vaughn would often refer to Hampton University Ministers Conference-Choir Directors and Organists Guild Workshop as the finishing school for the fine art of African American churchworship and practice. In that light, it is my great joy to welcome you to Hampton University, your Home by the Sea, and to share my excitement for our 112th and 92nd annual gatherings of the Conference and the Guild respectively. This year’s full conference agenda of sermons, lectures, workshops, and seminars will take place Sunday through Thursday, June 7-11, 2026. The Communion Service will take place on Monday night before the Conference President’s message with the conference ending on Thursday night after the Choir Guild’s annual concert.
It gives me great pleasure as Executive Director & Treasurer to invite you to register for this year’s conference. This year, our annual gathering centers on a bold and relevant theme, “The Church: Called to be Countercultural” and resonates with elements of social justice, human dignity, and the church’s role in it all. We ask that you take advantage of early registration opportunities under tremendously reduced registration rates. In addition, we wholeheartedly wish Dr. Harold A. Carter, Jr., HUMC President, and Reverend Dr. Katherine Grier, Choir Guild President, well in their final year of leadership and service.
My Christian friends, on behalf of President Darrell K. Williams, the administ ration, faculty, and staff of Hampton University, we appreciate your support over the years and look forward to exciting new horizons ahead as we continue to inform your theology, enrich your ministry, and bless your life!
